LoVe ActuaLLy....
This thing about watching movies is extremly addictive and it kindda grows onto you. So much so that now I can endure some of the worst british romantics without much ado. Love Actually ranks right up there in this category. It has a very Notting Hillish and Bridget Jones' Diaryish feel to it though its not even close to being in their league. Several unrelated love stories all running in the parallel re-inforce the fact that Love Actually is all around. As if we didn't know that and needed the British Prime Minister to go all out and kiss his plumpy secratry to prove it to us.
The movie for me stands on just one scene where the cute (Indian Looking) photographer expresses his love for a married lady. Not a word exchanged, not a sound heard but the message communicated in the most beautiful manner. This is how it goes......
Card1: "With any luck next year"
Card2: "I will be going out with one of these girls"
Card3: (Shows pics of some glamdols)
Card4: "But for now let me say"
Card5: "Without hope or agenda"
Card6: "Just because it is christmas"
Card7: "and at chirstmas you tell the truth"
Card8: "To me you are perfect"
Card9: "and my wasted heart will love you"
Card10: "untill you look like this..."
Card11: (Shows an ugly looking old women)
Love Actually is all around, be it for a person of the opposite sex, same sex or for food. The good work being done in the gym is going down the drain and we upheld the tradition yesterday by going to hog the kebabs straight off the north indian angeethi. All of us had to loosen our buttons to accommodate that extra piece of bird/animal meat into our overfull already bulging tummies. But somehow the evening was lacklusture, we dispersed as if we were out to accomplish a mere formality.....
Signing off....
